Do not overuse qualifying words

Overusing qualifying words weakens writing. You can often delete them without loss of meaning or emphasis.

For example:

It is completely unnecessary...

It is unnecessary...

To give your writing emphasis, choose a stronger word. 

For example: We were very pleased to hear...

We were delighted to hear...

It was really good...

It was excellent...

Save qualifying words for when they are essential - don't let them become your usual style.
